Developing gene-silencing treatments for fatty liver disease and abnormal blood lipids
Fatty liver disease and abnormal blood lipids can coexist, placing patients at risk of liver damage and cardiovascular complications. Their linked metabolic causes complicate care, and treatment of one condition may leave other sources of disease risk insufficiently controlled.
Silengenics is developing SIG-001, a liver-directed RNA therapy for fatty liver disease and abnormal blood lipids. The preclinical candidate is designed to reduce liver fat and harmful circulating lipids through one target, using infrequent injections.
