Developing wearable muscle sensors for neurological rehabilitation assessments
Rehabilitation after stroke or spinal cord injury depends on repeated measurements of muscle function and movement. Visual assessments can miss changes in coordination, while conventional muscle recordings take specialist setup and electrode placement, using time that clinicians could spend on therapy.
MyoLink is developing wearable bands that record muscle activity and movement during rehabilitation. Its software aims to give clinicians objective feedback with simpler setup, helping them compare recovery over time and tailor therapy to individual patients.
What stands out about MyoLink
The MyoLink founding project received a CHF 50,000 FONGIT Innovation Fund grant in December 2024 for muscle-monitoring development
MyoLink won CHF 10,000 at Venture Kick’s first support stage in February 2025 for its rehabilitation-sensing project.
Co-founder Vincent Mendez earned an EPFL doctorate in 2023 on decoding muscle activity for robotic prosthesis control.
