Developing polymers that capture microbes for rapid infection testing
Identifying bacterial and fungal infections can require days of laboratory testing. Delays in identifying the organism can postpone treatment decisions, while some eye infections need immediate medical attention to prevent serious complications.
Molecular Titans is developing polymers that selectively capture and release bacteria and fungi for rapid infection testing. Its prototype swab kits are designed to identify microbes near the patient without laboratory equipment.
