Developing sample transport media and reagents for microbiology testing
Microbiology results depend on sample quality during collection, transport and storage. Poor transport can reduce microbial viability or introduce contamination, making results difficult to interpret. Biological samples can also contain compounds that inhibit PCR and hinder reliable molecular testing.
MADs (Microbial Advanced Diagnosis) develops transport media and sample-preparation reagents for microbiology laboratories. Its TransBK medium transports and decontaminates tuberculosis samples, while AMPLIBOOST is designed to release DNA and reduce PCR inhibition.
What stands out about MADs (Microbial Advanced Diagnosis)
MADs secured four contracts for TransBK, its transport and decontamination medium for tuberculosis diagnostic samples.
Obtained a Bourse French Tech Emergence grant in 2024 to support its deeptech project.
Supported by the inter-university incubator Impulse for its microbial diagnostics project, initially focused on oral methanogen detection.
Supported by Fondation Méditerranée Infection as a minority founding associate and housed in leased premises at IHU Méditerranée Infection.
