Developing a temporary skin substitute to support healing of complex wounds
Complex wounds involving skin loss cannot always be closed with stitches. Treatment can require tissue transfers from healthy donor sites or implanted matrices. Invasive care can continue for weeks or months, requiring repeated interventions and substantial clinical staff time.
Kaptory is developing a mechanical temporary skin substitute, initially for severe finger wounds. The device is designed to support the body's own tissue regeneration, limit invasive intervention and eliminate dressing changes.
