Developing portable blood tests to assess suspected heart attacks
Suspected heart attacks require urgent assessment, yet most UK admissions for suspected heart attacks do not result in a confirmed diagnosis. Delays in detecting cardiac troponin can delay critical decisions, while reliance on external laboratories limits testing at the point of need.
Imprinted Diagnostics is developing a portable blood test that uses synthetic polymer sensors to detect cardiac troponin. Designed for use in ambulances and resource-limited clinics, it aims to help clinicians assess suspected heart attacks without external laboratory processing.
