Developing blood-viscosity testing to personalise coronary CT assessments
Assessing coronary artery narrowing is difficult when blood-flow measurements sit near treatment thresholds. Blood viscosity varies between patients and affects CT-based blood-flow calculations, yet models using a constant value do not capture these individual differences.
Hemodynes is developing a blood viscometer and software that combine measured blood viscosity with coronary CT images. The system aims to help researchers compare standard and personalised assessments of coronary blood flow.
