Developing RNA medicines to prevent bleeding in inherited clotting disorders
Inherited bleeding disorders can cause recurrent internal bleeding, painful joint damage and loss of mobility. Lifelong treatment can involve repeated infusions or injections, and available medicines do not address every disorder. Patients need durable bleeding prevention that also protects their joints and bones.
BLEEDnFIRE Therapeutics is developing RNA medicines to prevent bleeding across inherited clotting disorders. Its lead candidate aims to restore clotting balance with infrequent injections and protect patients from bleeding-related joint and bone damage.
What stands out about BLEEDnFIRE Therapeutics
A 2025 study of the underlying protein S-targeting siRNA approach prevented bleeding in two hemophilia A mouse injury models.
Subcutaneous protein S siRNA reduced circulating protein S in non-human primates, with peak lowering around day 13.
Antibody-based protein S inhibition increased thrombin generation in hemophilia A and B patient plasma in a 2025 study.
