Developing MRI hardware to improve how scanners receive imaging signals
MRI scanners turn signals from the body into images of tissues and internal structures. Noise affects those images, and choices about signal sampling and filtering change the noise, making signal acquisition and processing important engineering challenges.
BARNLabs develops MRI hardware to improve signal reception and processing. Its components are intended to upgrade existing and future scanners, helping researchers and clinicians expand the uses of MRI imaging.
