Developing targeted cancer medicines using small antibody fragments to carry drugs
Cancer medicines can damage healthy tissue as well as tumours, limiting the doses patients can tolerate. Delivering enough treatment to cancer cells while reducing exposure elsewhere remains difficult, and some patients have few effective options when existing therapies fail or cause severe side effects.
APEX OncoScience is developing targeted cancer medicines that use small antibody fragments called nanobodies to carry drug payloads. Its drug-conjugate approach aims to direct treatment towards tumour cells and expand options for patients with cancer.
