Developing educational video games that teach adolescents emotional skills
Adolescence brings emotional and social changes that can affect mental health. Difficulty regulating emotions is associated with emotional symptoms, behavioural problems and peer conflict. Schools can teach these skills, but motivating adolescents to participate remains a challenge.
AKISEI Studios develops educational video games that help adolescents practise emotional awareness, empathy and stress management. Its AKISEI Space programme supports school use with teacher guidance, emotional-skills assessments and individual progress reports.
