Developing treatments for organ scarring using tissue-like 3D drug-screening models
Fibrosis is excessive scarring that stiffens tissue and progressively damages organs, sometimes leading to organ failure. Effective treatments remain limited, while laboratory models often fail to reproduce the tissue conditions that drive disease, making promising drugs harder to identify.
3D-FibroScreen is developing therapies aimed at the underlying causes of organ scarring. Its tissue-like models help researchers identify promising anti-fibrotic compounds and assess how they act within the complex environment of diseased tissue.
